Probably most of you have seen documentaries about wildlife from different places around the globe? So did we, but we have never thought of being so close to the nature we have seen on the tv screen.

Before entering Ecuador we had hard time deciding either to go to Galapagos islands or not. Even though it is low season right now in these spectacular islands, it is not cheap. The flight price from Europe to Galapagos made our choice much easier as it might cost thousands of euros just to fly, not talking about accommodation, food and activities. 360e both ways from Quito per person sounded really good deal and we took it!

And so we landed on the volcanic islands! I remember everyone watching through the airplane windows to spot the first signs of the black land. The first tortoises and iguanas were always local stars as people wanted to get lots of pictures. But we headed further and went to the beautiful Isabella island, which, in the end, turned to be our favorite from all the islands we have visited.

There are plenty land activities and you do not really have to buy expensive cruises to see marine and land life. In Isabella we took a local tour, where we, for the first time in our lives, saw giant turtles under water, sting rays, golden rays, manta rays, white and black tip sharks, hundreds of different fishes and sea lions. And we not only saw them- we were able to swim with them. And most of the animals are so comfortable to be with humans, that they come just in front of your mask like wanting to say something.

We loved islands (except horrible bumpy speed boat rides between the islands) and would like to come back someday, but most likely we will explore the other parts of our beautiful planet. It is hard to tell about all the things we did here as words can't express our feelings. We took hundreds of pictures and hours of videos to share with you! Enjoy and Welcome to Galapagos!
